Tracks & Trails provides children with an opportunity to be immersed in the magic of nature. Each week offers time to explore, mimic and learn about nature. The children's curiosity and competency grows while being granted freedom and responsibility through routines such as sit spots, journaling, games, knife safety & skills, wandering and storytelling - all designed to increase their knowledge of the landscape and expand their capacity for social-emotional awareness and self-responsibility. A daily rhythm is created that is both reliable and spontaneous. Collaboration, gratitude, and reverence for the natural world are values modeled and practiced every day.

The Ojai Valley and it's surrounding wilderness offer countless places to explore. Know Your Valley weaves together project-based learning, geography, nature awareness and community connection.

Each week we meet in the heart of town at a green space. Our focus is on gaining a lay of the land - building our sense of the four directions, the watershed, and community organizations in order to develop both a mental and physical map of the Ojai Valley.

Students will participate in nature journaling, group projects that integrate community engagement, and daily routines that encourage collaboration and critical thinking.
